Karin Lee (DC): Executive Director, National Committee on North Korea; Former Senior Fellow, East Asia Policy Education Project, FCNL; Former International Affairs Representative, AFSC; North Korea and humanitarian aid, human rights and refugees, inter-Korean relations.  We’ll talk to Karin about the current situation with North Korea.

Last week North Korea pulled out of disarmament talks at the United Nations in response to a UN Security Council resolution condemning its April 5th rocket launch. North Korea ordered UN inspectors to remove seals and cameras from its Yongbyon nuclear site and leave the country as quickly as possible. The North Korean government claims it was merely test launching a communications satellite as part of a peaceful bid to develop its space program. The U.S. and other nations saw the launch as an illicit test of technology used to fire an intercontinental ballistic missile.
