Latoya Peterson is writer and editor of Racialicious.com, a blog dedicated to exploring the intersection between race and pop culture. She is a feminist who encourages thoughtful, hard-hitting perspectives on a wide range of topics. “When I read her blogs or commentary, I usually have an AHA! moment. Valerie Elam performs Blues, Pop, Jazz She has been in various bands and played covers while working on writing songs for her debut CD, Deju Vu. All of the songs on the CD are directly related to something or some experience that she has been involved with through the years. “I also wanted to create a feeling of happiness and contentment. I feel our world is so full of anger that is reflected in so many pop songs today. Music should make you smile and feel something and I hope as you listen…you will also smile and feel happy.”
