Celebrate Independence Day tonight at 7pm on 96.5FM
The Revolution Starts Now! will air tonight , Thursday, from 7 – 9 PM on WSLR, 96.5 FM. Please tune in if you can!!!!
Tonight’s show will explore Independence Day from various angles. Birthday honorees will include Herman Hesse, King Henry VIII, Ron Kovic, Jamie Farr, and Ahmad Jamal. On a somber note, we will mark the passings of Rod Serling, Jim Morrison, and Nostradamus (he saw it coming. . .) Other events include the kickoff of Bruce Springsteen’s first tour in three years, the last Nash Rambler, the first Corvette, the end of the 5-cent subway ride in NYC, the release of “Banned in the USA”, the end of the line on Broadway for “Jesus Christ, Superstar”, the publication of “Alice in Wonderland”, and Scott McKenzie’s first hit single. And, as always, there will the usual madcap mix of music, commentary and other ramblings out of the time warp that make Thursday evenings worth living. . .
My programmer web page at www.wslr.org is updated every week with fun facts and bizarre commentary, so if you haven’t checked it out lately, why not??!! I try to updated it right before each week’s show, so Thursdays are double bonuses – you can look early for what is on the current show and after 6:30 for what will be on next week. . .
Feel free to give a call at 941-355-4540 or 941-894-6469.
