This is one of those nights I’ve been waiting to come around on a
Monday, and it’s finally now! One of my ‘desert island” tapes...And
serendipitously, this past Saturday the Capitol played the 2/24/71
concert in tribute:
“THE CAPITOL THEATRE PRESENTS THIS UNRELEASED 1971
GRATEFUL DEAD CONCERT IN ITS ENTIRETY WITH FULL
LIGHT SHOW AT CONCERT VOLUME.
“A DOSE OF THE DEAD: 1 LEGENDARY NIGHT AT THE
CAPITOL THEATRE IN PORT CHESTER, NEW YORK” TO
FEATURE ADDITIONAL UNRELEASED MUSIC CURATED BY
GRATEFUL DEAD ARCHIVIST DAVID LEMIEUX.”

Mickey's last show until 10-20-74(at the encore) - and the first night of
the “E.S.P. shows”.
The night of the first of many “Bettyboards”, although this is not that recording. This show is a real beauty..and in fact, the portion that has been officially released (the Dark Star jam) on the "So Many Roads" box set named the jam "Beautiful Jam" in honor of how gorgeous this improvisation (ESP in action!) is. The next night, 2/19/71, has been officially released as “Three From The Vault".
