There are many different ways to support WSLR-LPFM.
Wills and Bequests: You or a loved one who enjoys Sarasota community radio may name WSLR, Inc. to receive a direct bequest by Will. When including a bequest provision in your will, always use our full legal name, WSLR, Inc., and provide our federal taxpayer identification number.
You may make the following gifts by lifetime gift or a provision in your Will.
Appreciated assets: The gift of an appreciated asset, such as common stock or mutual fund shares, is a valuable way to make a contribution to WSLR, Inc. and receive tax benefits based on the value of the asset(s).
Charitable Lead Trusts: You may design a Charitable Lead Trust to provide income payments to WSLR, Inc. for a period measured by a fixed term of years, the lives of one or more individuals, or a combination of the two; after which, remaining trust assets are paid to you or one or more named individual beneficiaries.
Charitable Remainder Trusts: You achieve tax benefits by giving an annual contribution or a fixed annual percentage of the value of the assets in the trust to one or more named individual beneficiaries, and WSLR, Inc. receives the remainder of the value of the assets in the trust.
There are many other vehicles for expressing your gratitude for WSLR’s commitment to the Sarasota community.
Retirement Plans: You specifically name WSLR, Inc. as a designated beneficiary of your 401(k), IRA, Keogh, or other qualified plan.
Life Insurance: You make WSLR, Inc. the beneficiary (or a contingent beneficiary) of a life insurance policy, or you may wish to transfer ownership of a policy to WSLR, Inc. As an alternative, you purchase a new policy, which may entitle you to certain tax advantages, with WSLR, Inc. as owner and beneficiary.
Living Trust: If you already have or now considering setting up a Living Trust, you may name WSLR, Inc. as a vested or contingent beneficiary in your instrument.
Real estate or personal property: You may achieve significant tax advantages by gifting real property, collectible art, jewelry or other valuable property to WSLR, Inc.
WSLR suggests that you consult an estate planning professional, such as your attorney and/or financial advisor, prior to establishing a program of planned giving.
