Jordan Tice is a singer, songwriter and guitarist who combines witty, well-crafted songs with deft fingerstyle and flatpick guitar playing. His performances have been compared to those of legends like Leo Kottke, John Hartford, and David Bromberg for their mix of virtuosity and playfulness and his songs have been compared to those of writers, Bob Dylan and John Prine for their humor, introspection and philosophical nature.
Jordan Tice is a singular voice on the American roots music scene. Over the last ten years, he has developed a reputation as a unique and versatile guitarist and prolific composer of some of the most thoughtful and well-crafted tunes of his generation. Jordan has a voice and sonic aesthetic that is all his own with which he filters the sounds and conventions of American Music into something unique.
The show will begin with Sycamore Shade. Sycamore Shade blends it’s deep background in traditional, front porch Appalachian music and instrumentation with a variety of contemporary styles. Artists as diverse as Tom Petty and Little Feat, Old 97’s and Cheap Trick can find their way to a Sycamore Shade performance, along with originals and old time folk and bluegrass. The band’s homemade acoustic music, wrapped up in simple strings and soaring vocal harmonies, would make Mother Maybelle proud. Perplexed, but proud.
