‘Saving Florida’s Springs’ takes the audience on a journey to North & Central Florida – the place with the highest concentration of fresh water springs in the world. Discover their beauty, history, and critical importance as these places give us a glimpse on the health of the ground water over 10 million people rely on – and what can be done to protect the region’s springs and fresh water for generations to come.’

Director Sami Kattan was born to a Syrian-Lebanese father and Irish-American mother and raised in Saudi Arabia as a child, Sami was brought up to perceive the world without boundaries.

On the small, tropical island of Utila, Honduras he found inspiration to use film to share the beauty of the natural world after swimming with the largest fish in the sea, the whale shark. He has since dedicated his time to honing his craft as a filmmaker and using this ability to raise awareness about important environmental and social issues to motivate the world to collectively work towards sustainable solutions to the problems of our time.
