Trevor Bystrom’s Rooster Xing is a group of world class musicians bringing powerhouse harmonic chants, Afro/Caribbean electric guitar riffs, and rhythms crafted from decades of tradition with bass lines that sink deep into them sprinkled with the melodic story telling of improv saxophone/flute. Expect a show that will bring you on a journey through time and culture, and on to the dance floor.

About:

Trevor Bystrom
Born and raised in Holmes Beach, Bystrom developed a passion for world music at an early age, falling in love first with the sounds of the Caribbean and later immersing himself in the work of a wide array of African artists. At 16, he began performing live and writing his own songs. Over the past decade Bystrom has played thousands of shows and hundreds of festivals. His most recent collaborative album, “Mawanga & Bystrom,” fuses American and Malawian culture into an adventurous, inventive and deeply moving testament to our shared humanity.

Zion Albert
Albert hails from the island of Dominica, and grew up in the U.S.V.I. His musical inspiration is Bob Marley, whose music has touched the hearts of many, spreading positivity to the world. He performed with Ziggy Marley and Joseph Israel at a 2009 event in Hawaii. Since then, he has shared the stage with many international artists, including The Wailers Band, Pato Banton, Mighty Diamonds, Luciano, Junior Reid, Ras Shiloh, Ossie Dellimore, Taj Weekes, Warrior King and Yellowman, and Baby Cham in Las Vegas Nevada in 2021. Albert supports several charitable funds, political campaigns, local schools, libraries, venues, city, and several outreach events.

Nora Bear
Nora Bear  has been singing since she could talk, and she hasn’t stopped since. After her first performance at a summer camp at the Music Compound at age 8, she was hooked. Since then, she has written a handful of songs (mostly about her baby brother, and the challenges and adventures she faces growing up), and has jumped in in-between “step dude’s” local sets to sing a song or two whenever she gets the chance
