4:15pm – Workshop: “Everyone Can Compost” – Join Sunshine Community Compost to learn about the interconnected benefits of composting and how to get started with composting at home, at a city park compost station, with your business, school or community group.
4:35pm – Workshop: “Innovative Landscape Design“ – Learn why it is vital to use indigenous plants, and uncover some of the many misconceptions of common landscapes. Pam Callender, Florida Native Plant Society
5pm – The Garbage-Men perform. The Garbage-Men encourage recycling and giving back by playing music on home-made instruments from garbage and recycled materials. They now have more than fifteen instruments that they play at shows and they perform regularly across the country, on the streets, and at festivals and charity events.
6pm – Workshop – E-Bike Basics! Steven from 10th Street Bikes will share the variety of designs of e-bikes and how the benefits of owning an e-bike help us move forward in a busy life. He will highlight the varieties between class 1,2,3 and how to choose the best fit for you.
6:20pm – Workshop – Introduction to Honeybee Relocation – A basic step by step workshop all about how honey bee relocation works, what to look for and what to avoid. Along with the benefits of relocating honey bees locally.
Throughout the day:
Stop by the Transition Sarasota booth for a Locally Grown Food Tasting. Try out “sustainable foods” (easily locally grown) such as cactus paddle, malabar spinach, and more. Vote for your favorite!
