Anja Schatz – Artist statement
Anja loves to employ vibrant acrylics and mixed media. Relationships and self-reflection find expression in Anja’s abstract and figurative paintings. As decorative paintings, Anja offers art by order to compliment and contrast color schemes in public and private homes.
She is also writing German and English poetry and works on a novel.
Besides creating art, Anja loves to read and listen to music from Buena Vista Social Club to K-pop. Her favorite musicians are Leonard Cohen, Peter Gabriel and Bruce Springsteen.
After moving to Florida from Germany in 2009, she married and now lives with her husband, two daughters and a rescue dog in Bradenton.
