The Bailsmen, New York City’s gypsy jazz band, draws from the inspiration of Django Reinhardt’s driving rhythm and the excitement of prohibition-era luminaries Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, and Sidney Bechet. The Bailsmen jazz band was born on the rooftops of Brooklyn in the summer of 2011 and began packing dance floors with high-energy, vintage swing music. The Bailsmen play gypsy jazz and hot, vintage jazz music. French bistro, New Orleans dance party, and New York City sophistication.
