Peace/Justice Feb 7, 9 -10 a.m. – Healthcare Summit, Jan Schneider and Joe Newman

Written by on Monday, February 5, 2018

This Wednesday we’ll talk to Libby Devlin about the upcoming Florida Healthcare Summit. It’s February 16 and 17 in West Palm Beach. Libby  is the Southern Region Director for National Nurses Organizing Committee/National Nurses United. She has been a union organizer for over 30 years, engaging workers in the struggle for social and economic justice, and fighting to create a just healthcare system with a single standard of care for all. She has lived in Tampa, FL for the past 15 years with her spouse and two children.

A huge and growing coalition of national and state organizations including Our Revolution, National Nurses United, Healthcare Now, National Organization Of Women, Social Security Works, Progressive Democrats Of America, and others are developing a space where federal and state solutions to our healthcare woes are discussed, and activists energized and organized to hit the streets running when they leave.  Check the website www.floridahealthcaresummit.org.
