Internationally acclaimed guitarist Don Soledad returns to Fogartyville with his signature blend of fiery flamenco and expressive guitar, joined by acclaimed flamenco dancer Laura Pirela and accomplished vibraphonist and percussionist Justin Steger.
Inspired by the legendary Paco de Lucía, Don refined his artistry under renowned Spanish masters in both the United States and Andalucía, Spain. Named “Best Musician” at Orlando’s FusionFest in 2020, his group has captivated audiences abroad and throughout the United States, performing everywhere from the wineries of Napa Valley to the iconic Versace Mansion in Miami.
Together, this exceptional ensemble creates an unforgettable evening of passionate music, mesmerizing dance, and authentic flamenco, capturing the fiery spirit, rich tradition, and soul of Andalucia, Spain.
Don Soledad ’s musical journey began in Northern California, deeply influenced by flamenco legend Paco de Lucia.
His early education in the art form was under the tutelage of Spanish flamenco maestros Mariano de Cordoba and Agustin Rios, the latter being the nephew of the esteemed guitarist Diego del Gastor. This foundational training was further enriched by studies in Andalucía, Spain, specifically in Jerez de la Frontera, with guitarist Juan Diego Mateos, shaping his sophisticated and soulful sound.
Upon returning from Spain, Don Soledad quickly established himself as a performer in the San Francisco Bay Area, gracing stages in San Francisco and the renowned wineries of Sonoma and Napa Valley. His versatility as a recording artist and performer is evident through his collaborations across diverse genres, including work with rock singer Eric Martin, jazz bassist Kai Eckhardt, and even opening for the late jazz guitar legend Larry Coryell. As a composer, he has released two original albums, Camino de Seda and Soluna, in addition to a Christmas album titled December Lullaby.
Since relocating to Florida, Don Soledad has become a prominent figure in the state’s music scene. His band, Don Soledad Group, secured first place in the “Best Musician” category at Orlando’s FusionFest 2020. His performances extend across the continental U.S. for music festivals and internationally, including a tour of Manila, Philippines in 2023. Noteworthy performance highlights include appearances at the Versace Mansion in South Beach, private parties for Gloria Estefan, and a five-year tenure leading the house band at the Estefan’s resort, Costa d’Este, in Vero Beach, Florida.
