Join Emerge Sarasota at this collaborative networking mixer and Community Game Night for a cause in recognition of Black Giving Day: 8/28.
Established by Young, Black & Giving Back Institute in August 2018, 8/28 (or Black Giving Day) was created to have a giving day dedicated to financially supporting grassroots, Black-led nonprofits.
Give 8/28 builds on the momentum created by Black Philanthropy Month (August) with one concentrated day of giving to Black nonprofits. The full-day giving challenge leverages online fundraising tools in order to tap into the enthusiasm of the 21st Century young philanthropists.
Celebrate, support and uplift Black-led nonprofits for a night of classic fun including board games, an Uno tournament, spades, college-style party games, and music from DJ Bass God.
Spend your evening getting to know small, grassroots Black-led nonprofit organizations and their leaders who are doing impactful work in this community.
Attendees are encouraged to engage with the showcase of 10 local nonprofits or organization representatives to learn about each of their missions and ways to contribute to their sustainability in the community.
The community is invited to enjoy this uplifting and fun event that will close out #bpm2023 in celebration and collaboration.
