The Fogartyville Songwriters Series is a new showcase opportunity to highlight some of the region’s best songwriting talent. The May event will be hosted by Justin Layman.

Emily Frost was born and raised in Sarasota and has been performing up and down the cultural coast since 2015. Her voice and style of singing has been compared to Allison Kraus, Norah Jones, and Sarah McLachlan and she is recognized for her talent with rhythm guitar and fingerpicking. She classifies her genre of music as acoustic sweet soulful folk and enjoys writing music and recreating covers of her favorite songs.
Originally from New Jersey, Bill Vinhage was active in the music scene in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York before moving to Tampa Bay in 1999. He has a diverse vocal range and unique guitar style and strives to offer a unique treatment and interesting approach across a wide variety of music.
More info on the Songwriter Series:
The Fogartyville showcase will present three solo singer-songwriters performing four songs each.
Following the showcase, we will host an Open Round for musicians, inviting any singer-songwriters in the audience to submit their name for a chance to be picked at random to play a few songs. The Open Round is a good place for musicians to try out new material, meet other songwriters, practice performance skills and become a part of the local songwriting community. Feedback from the audience is welcomed. Anyone is eligible to play at the Open Round as long as your material is original. (This is an acoustic event, no pre-recorded tracks allowed).
Sponsored by the Watts Family Endowment for Arts & Education.
