The Fogartyville Songwriters Series is a new showcase opportunity to highlight some of the region’s best songwriting talent. The March event will be hosted by Rebekah Pulley.
Rebekah Pulley is a St. Petersburg, Florida based singer-songwriter whose music has been described as jaw dropping, with a tendency to break your heart and shake your soul. She’s etched out a fruitful living in a diverse setting of house concerts, bars, and festivals earning herself eight ‘Best Of The Bay’ songwriting, performing and recording awards from Tampa’s own Creative Loafing. Rebekah’s musical style has wryly evolved tapping roots-rock, blues, old-school country & western, jazz, and even gospel to become a must have for the most discerning Americana and Folk music fans.
Doug Burns is, first and foremost, a singer/songwriter but he is also an Americana and Country music stand-out performer as well. His songs are melodic stories from his life and experiences and range from up-tempo singalongs to dark and moody thought provoking ear worms.
More info on the Songwriter Series:
The second Monday of each month, musicians and music fans are invited to gather to hear a trio of songwriters in the round playing their craft and describing their songwriting experience. We love the songwriter round format because it facilitates a deeper connection between the individuals sharing the stage, and encourages storytelling and spontaneous collaboration.
The Fogartyville showcase will present three solo singer-songwriters performing four songs each.
Following the showcase, we will host an Open Round for musicians, inviting any singer-songwriters in the audience to submit their name for a chance to be picked at random to play a few songs. The Open Round is a good place for musicians to try out new material, meet other songwriters, practice performance skills and become a part of the local songwriting community. Feedback from the audience is welcomed. Anyone is eligible to play at the Open Round as long as your material is original. (This is an acoustic event, no pre-recorded tracks allowed).
The combination of curated and open rounds creates a wonderful musical evening, centered around and celebrating the craft of songwriting, guaranteeing a fantastic live listening experience, and also giving newcomers a chance to be seen, heard, and get involved.
La Casita Taco Truck will be serving food beginning at 6 p.m. for this event and all Singer Songwriter shows in this series.
