YULE LOVE THE MARIMBA 2: THE UNTOLD STORY OF KRAMPUS

A Second Annual Winter Tradition

This isn’t your typical holiday concert. Yule Love the Marimba 2: The Untold Story of Krampus blends live music, spoken word, and theatrical storytelling into a mischievous, subversive reimagining of winter folklore. With equal parts satire and ritual, the performance resurrects Krampus—the horned shadow of Saint Nicholas—as a myth reborn from salt, storm, and memory.

Guided by People Trippin’s Melanie Lavender playing the role of Sister Morrison of the “Ministry of Memory and Liberation”, audiences are invited into a tale that begins in the snowy Alps and resurfaces on Florida’s Gulf Coast, where Krampus rides a bone-and-driftwood jet ski in search of justice. Through a rich musical score that spans Carol of the Bells to Feliz Navidad, alongside new arrangements, Kwanzaa celebrations, Chanukah melodies, and the sonic force of marimbas and Spoken Word, the story unfolds as a battle against greed, consumerism, and the hollowing out of tradition.

Part folklore, part social commentary, and part joyous romp, the performance reminds us that the holiday season is more than shopping carts and flashing lights—it is about presence, reflection, balance, and community. Krampus arrives not only as a punisher, but as a trickster who spares no one who forgets the true meaning of the season.

Audiences can expect haunting soundscapes, bursts of humor, and the thrill of participatory sing-alongs that close the evening on a raucous note. Yule Love the Marimba 2 is a holiday ritual for our times—irreverent, musical, and unforgettable.
