Democracy Rising, an event to revitalize the grassroots for the 2024 elections.
According to the institutions that measure it, democracy is on the decline in the United States and authoritarianism is on the rise. Corporations and the wealthy have too much power. Individual rights are being limited. Books are being banned. But the good news is that citizens are waking up and grassroots groups are forming and fighting back. We’ll be hearing from several of them tonight.
Network with fellow progressives, enjoy the music of Physical Plant, and get involved to make a difference in 2024. Groups that will be present include: SEE Space, Women’s Voices of SW Florida, Choose Democracy, Social Justice Alliance, Support our Schools, Moms Demand Action and Save New College.
