On Tuesday, Nov. 6 polls closed at 7 PM across the state with Floridians glued to their screens while they waited for the election results. The race was close with news organizations announcing that Republican candidate, Rick Scott, our current Governor was ahead of incumbent Democrat, Bill Nelson while Republican, Ron DeSantis, was ahead of Democratic candidate, Andrew Gillum. On Thursday, Nov. 8, the margin between candidates was so small, less than one percent, that it called for a mandatory recount which is occuring as I speak. We’re talking to Joe Gruters, of the Sarasota Republican Club, and Deborah Hall, of Progressive Sarasota, on this election recount. WSLR volunteers were at election watch parties across the country, we have got some of those interviews for you to hear. It’s all coming up very soon!
