This week, practically all meetings will happen on Tuesday. The Sarasota County Commission will vote on upzoning the land for the controversial Midtown SRQ mixed-used project, end payroll deductions for the United Way, discuss an ordinance to block funding for social service agencies that refer to Planned Parenthood, and ponder the elimination of the local business tax. The Manatee County Commission will discuss raising the tourism tax. The Venice City Council will hear a report about plans to move city council elections to general elections.
