news about Venezuelan leadership made its way to the state as protests
in solidarity with Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro–we speak to ANSWER
Suncoast on a rally in Sarasota. STOP! is a civic organization that
wants to push for more citizen approval in local Sarasota policy. A new
statewide bill, pushed by local representative Joe Gruters, could end
LGBTQ discrimination in employment. ALSO Youth’s Nate Bruemmer breaks
down the progress, and limitations, with this bill. In celebration of
Black History Month, the New College of Florida is hosting its 4th
annual celebration with dozens of events open to the greater public in
Sarasota.
