From Portland Maine to Los Angeles California Americans are protesting Trump’s immigration policies. With a budget second only to the Pentagon, armed and masked ICE agents have been murdering and disappearing both immigrants and citizens from the streets. But people are fighting back. According to Ron Gochez, an activist in LA, after spending hundreds of millions of dollars and sending thousands of agents, the National Guard and the U.S. Marines to Los Angeles, ICE wasn’t able to disappear even 1% of the undocumented population as of July 2025. In her book Breaking ICE Sonali Kolhatkar talks with the people on the front lines.
