This Wednesday, August 30, at 9am the WSLR Peace & Justice Report will interview Chuck Collins. Chuck is the Director of the Program on Inequality and the Common Good at the Institute for Policy Studies, where he co-edits Inequality.org.
He is an expert on U.S. inequality and the racial wealth divide and author of over ten books and dozens of reports about inequality, climate disruption, philanthropy, the wealth divides, affordable housing, and billionaire wealth dynasties.
His newest book is a novel. Altar to an Erupting Sun is a near-future story of one community facing climate disruption in the critical decade ahead. “Rae Kelliher is a veteran environmentalist activist and pioneer in the death-with-dignity movement. Her husband Reggie calls her a “party in a box” and “a weaver of people and movements.” Facing a diagnosis of terminal illness, Rae engages in a shocking suicide-murder, taking the life of an oil company CEO for his complicity in delaying responses to climate catastrophe. Seven years later, Rae’s friends and family gather at her Vermont farm to try to understand her violent exit and rapid social transformations trigged by her desperate act.”
