“So This is Love” by Marquis Dawsey

Two musicians, Kristen and Michael, are brought together through a blind date, leading to an unexpected creative and emotional partnership. As love blossoms, their relationship is tested when Kristen gets her dream job in another state, forcing them to confront the challenges of distance, dreams, and commitment.

I’m Marquis Dawsey, an independent filmmaker from Bradenton, Florida, with over seven years of experience telling story-driven, cinematic stories. I’m a Ferris State University graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Film and an Emmy Award–winning producer through my work with PBS. I work across short films, documentaries, music videos, and commercials, focusing on visuals that feel grounded, emotional, and intentional. I’m also the founder of Black Lemonade Productions, where I handle projects from concept to completion, pre-production, production, editing, and color grading, while keeping the process collaborative and personal. At the core of my work is storytelling with soul. I don’t just create videos, I craft experiences that connect, resonate, and last.
