Join Jared Engel , Chris Luquette and Aidan Scrimgeour of the NYC Musicians’ Baseball Club for The Windup—an evening of original and obscure baseball tunes, live-scored baseball-themed scenes from historic silent films, and a live-scored screening of Engel’s award-winning silent short Day of the Catch. The film reimagines a wacky but true episode from the Brooklyn Robins’ 1915 spring training, when an attempt to catch a baseball dropped from a biplane took a prankish turn after the ball was swapped for a grapefruit—marking the first-ever screen adaptation of the legend widely believed to have inspired the name of Florida’s Grapefruit League.
