International Women’s Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 as a focal point in the women’s rights movement, focusing on social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also brings attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women. This year’s theme for International Women’s Day is Embrace Equity. Equity isn’t just a nice-to-have, it’s a must-to-have. Imagine a gender-equal world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.
The group Mujeres Latinas, Cesaria Evora,
