The history of WSLR and Fogartyville – Next Wednesday at 9am!

Written by on Thursday, April 9, 2026

This coming Wednesday, 4/15 at 9am, I will interview Arlene Sweeting and Dave Beaton, the founders of WSLR and Fogartyville. Listen for the full hour and learn about our history –  the original Fogartyville restaurant in Bradenton, how the “Fogartyville” was name was chosen, the original Peace Education and Action Center, WSLR’s first broadcast studio, our connection with New College, what Dave and Arlene have now started in Elberta, Michigan, and much, much more.

By the way, a film telling the story of Amy Goodman and Democracy Now will be shown at 6:30 pm at CineBistro. It’s called Steal This Story Please. Watch the trailer here.
