Join me sunday, Jan. 18 from 11am-1pm while I celebrate Martin Luther KIng Day with a bevy of beautifully written songs related to MLK and Civil Rights.  I also continue with songs from Jackson, MS where I visited in Dec. and one of the epicenters of civil rights conflict.  Singer-Songwriter Robert Killian  plans to stop by to talk about an upcoming event related to Pete Seeger.  Robert lived with Pete for a period way back when and worked on the Clearwater (tall ship that transported many helping to clean up the Hudson River). According to some people we now live in a post-racial America  where everybody's right to vote and live free is a given, however, Mark Potok (left) from the Southern Poverty Law Center begs to differ. He will report (unfortunately) that hate is alive and well in the USA.

Later in the show, Steve and Lew will talk to student activist Lakey Love who has organized a protest against FSU president John Thrasher and his plan to accept money from the Koch brothers and their influence on the cirriculum.
