Author Jonathan Franklin,  who covered the Chilean mine disaster in 2010 and wrote a book about that experience, is joining Steve and Lew to talk about that project and his latest book about a Salvadoran fisherman who survived more than a year adrift in the Pacific.

Later, Desmond Meade (left) State Director of Faith in Florida's Live Free campaign will tell us about why he is working for an amendment to the state constitution to guarantee a path to restoring voting rights for felons who served their time.

JOIN ME ON THURSDAY, DEC. 3 FOR THE ANNUAL 'BUDDHA'S ENLIGHTENMENT' SHOW FROM NOON-2 PM.  They'll be serious and funny songs about Zen and Buddhism and some information to help listeners learn Buddhism and Buddhist practices.  Turn on, tune in and become ONE with community radio.

The man in the picture is Roshi Philip Kapleau who started the Rochester Zen Center where I studied from 1968-1972.  Many of his students are now teachers including Sunya Kjolhede and Lawson Sachter who started Windhorse Zen Center in Alexander, NC.
