This Wednesday, Sept 15 at 9am, our guest will be Dr. Brennan Asplen, Superintendent of Sarasota County Schools.
Dr. Brennan Asplen was born in Baltimore, Maryland, but spent his early years in Fort Myers, Florida. Drawn to uplifting others through educational advancement from an early age, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Central Florida in Mathematics Education, his Master’s Degree from Nova Southeastern University in Educational Leadership, and his Doctor of Education from the University of Central Florida in Educational Leadership. Dr. Asplen holds Florida certifications for Educational Leadership (All Levels), School Principal (All Levels), Mathematics (grades 6-12), and he has endorsements for Gifted and the Middle Grades.
He began his career in education over 30 years ago as a mathematics teacher. He has since served as a Coach, Adjunct Professor, Dean, Assistant Principal, Principal, Associate Superintendent for Human Resources, and Deputy Superintendent for Academic and Student Services before starting his current role as Superintendent of Schools for Sarasota County.
Known for his thoughtful, compassionate, and results-driven leadership style, Dr. Asplen is committed to fostering community & progress, reducing the achievement gap, and working collaboratively with the School Board, the school communities, and the families of Sarasota County to provide the best example and highest-quality education for our students.
