A City of North Port Commission hearing doesn’t give the impression.

This Wednesday Feb. 28 at 9am we’ll talk to Jim Hightower and Gene Jones about the dangers of the MAGA movement. Jim will be honored at the Florida Veterans for  Common Sense Tom Paine dinner at Fogartyville this Thursday night.

But teachers’ unions are energized.

Public input has been minimal; Newtown residents object.

Stepped-up policing curbs violence, the police chief says. But a mother is worried.

The developer-friendly county commission hikes impact fees by 50%.

Neighbors in Newtown did not want it, nor did local governments. So the lynching marker is at a church now.

But the ultimate decision may be in the state’s hands.

New ordinances give more clarity to business owners, but neighbors fear more noise.

Staffer says that the main factor, for now, is families leaving the county — not private-school vouchers.
