LATIN EXPLOSION, Friday, 7-9am

A Descarga is the Cuban version of an improvised jam session. Son Montuno, Guajira, Bolero, Guaracha, Rumba y mas! Descarga is influenced by American Jazz. Descarga was born in Havana in the 1950’s.

This week on LATIN EXPLOSION, I will feature Cachao, the biggest name in Descarga. Plus Chappottin, New York Boogaloo master Johnny Colon and music from the movie Chef. Sandwich Cubano anyone?
