The Bosnian and Ukrainian wars, then Reproductive Freedom on Peace & Justice, 9am this Wednesday Sept. 28.

Written by on Saturday, September 24, 2022

This Wednesday, Sept 28 at 9am, we’ll talk to Ella Colic. Ella is the American author of the book “Trees Without Roots.” It’s a true story about the heroic and painful journey of her father and his sister, who dodged mortars and experienced death all around them when they were children trying to escape the Bosnian War. She says it parallels what Ukrainians are experiencing today. We’ll discuss how writing this book impacted the way she sees the war in Ukraine.

Our second guests will be Sarah Parker and Kaity Danehy-Samitz from Women’s Voices of Southwest Florida. Women’s Voices is a grassroots movement and organization based out of Manatee and Sarasota Counties. Made up of Floridians that are dedicated to defending civil liberties, reproductive freedom, their mission is to empower communities through education, outreach and activism. They’re having their second annual March for Reproductive Freedom on October 9 at 6pm at Five Points Park in downtown Sarasota.
