Highlights: United Hospitality Group of Florida, LLC proposes to build a five-story, 119-room hotel at 5325 Royal Palm Ave., near the airport. To do that, the city would have to approve an upzone from “Residential Multiple Family 2” to “Urban Mixed-Use”. The developer wants to be allowed to build higher than allowed by donating to an affordable housing fund. Weekley Homes LLC wants the city to approve platting 72 single-family attached lots at 300 & 508 Audubon Place; the affordable Audubon Townhomes would be Phase 3 of the proposed “Sarasota Station” project. In Phase 1 and 2, another developer proposes to build an affordable apartment complex on the 8-acre site off Fruitville Road, just east of 301.
