Fourth Annual
Sarasota, FL — The Unitarian Universalists of Sarasota Green Team, WSLR, and Generating Earth Connections invite the community to the fourth annual Suncoast Environmental Leaders Appreciation Event.
This free, community-wide gathering celebrates the theme Hope Through Action — and the people who live it every day. It is a morning set aside to honor the environmental leaders of Florida’s Gulf Coast: the scientists, planners, advocates, and volunteers who work — often quietly and behind the scenes — to restore and protect what we love about this region.
More than 100 environmental leaders from across the Suncoast are invited to attend, representing dozens of local organizations committed to science-based stewardship and sustainability. Whether you’re a longtime activist or someone newly inspired to get involved, this is a space to connect, collaborate, and recharge alongside people who share your values.
Jennifer Shafer, PhD, Co-Executive Director of the Science and Environment Council of Southwest Florida — a collaborative network of 45 regional environmental organizations.
Sara Kane, MA, CPM, LEED GA, Sustainability and Resilience Manager for Sarasota County, who has led the development of the region’s first Climate Action and Adaptation Plans and secured millions in resilience funding.
Together, they offer a grounded, forward-looking perspective on what hope looks like when it’s put to work.
