Of the seven shows residing in the Archive, pretty much the only reviews are from this fine soundboard.
“Dire Wolf”, “Mama Tried” and “Mexicali Blues” are supplied by an audience recording I dropped in,
since they are missing from the soundboard.

REVIEW: Trippy Show
The Dead loved playing Europe since the audience expectations were different than in the States. Times
had changed and demands on the band in this era was for loud, rocking jams. The Rainbow Theater
offered the group a chance to play some soulful, jazzy jams and sink into the music. At the start of this
show, the sound was not great up front. The floor was so open that you could walk up to the stage and
back to the rear of the theater without bumping into anyone. The music was good, despite the set list
being inncouous. All in all, the first set was ok. During the break, SOMETHING kicked in. The second
set opened with Playing –> Shakedown –> Bertha and it seemed like it was going to be a stellar 2nd. I
looked around and found myself in the middle of the typical sea of humanity. No open spaces left.
Immersed in the music, I was not prepared for what would come next. WEIR blew the whistle! It changed
the set, changed the mood and hurt our ears real bad.

REVIEW: Jerry shredds Cumberland
The Rainbow Theatre in London was probably so awesome to be at and see the Dead. Never seen pictures
or anything but from what I read and its low capacity I’am sure its a beautiful orninate theater with that
killer balcony over the stage Iam a huge fan of those old little decadent palaces like Fox Theater and
Sheas etc. Some were so lucky to see The band in such gems like these places. By the way I thought that
Shakedown coming out of Playin was really wild to hear I cant think of to many shows at all actually that
feature that combo. Ther not messing around coming out for that 2nd set Playin>Shakedown>Bertha sick
stuff. All that said the recording isnt to good.

REVIEW: Rainbow Theater
I was fortunate to be at all the Rainbow Theater shows. It was an amzing venue, beautiful theater, great
sound. The most enjoyable part was the relaxed atmosphere – there was no problem walking up to the
stage, resting your elbows on the stagfe and watching Jerry and the band do their thing! It was one of my
memorable Dead experiences!

REVIEW: A Good Night
Highlights: Playin’ Jam, Spanish Jam

REVIEW: Warm
With headphones its very warm sounding, Love it
