Fogartyville and South Arts Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers present a screening of “Breaking the News,” the third in a series that connects independent filmmakers with communities throughout the South for film screenings and conversations around stories, important topics, and the art of filmmaking.
“Breaking the News” documents the honest discussions at The 19th nonprofit newsroom around race and gender equity, revealing that change doesn’t come easy, and showcasing how one newsroom confronts these challenges both as a workplace and in their journalism.
But this documentary is about more than a newsroom. It’s about America in flux, and the voices that are often left out of the American story.
