This Wednesday we’ll talk in the studio to Bruce Rodgers, Executive Director of the Hermitage Artist Retreat. The Hermitage hosts artists on their Gulf-front Manasota Key campus for “escape-to-create” residencies. Some come to explore and experiment, some are on deadline or working on a commission. The idea is that artists require focused time to produce quality new work without external demands or expectations.
Bruce is retiring at the end of December after 15 years, and 11 years before that he was Associate Artistic Director of the Asolo. Read about him HERE. Their popular “Artful Lobster” event takes place on their campus November 9 from 11am – 2pm.
