“There Is NOTHING like a Grateful Dead concert!”
As Alex, from “A Clockwork Orange”, says, “…apple-polly-loggies…” if you
were listening to my show last week. After broadcasting 12/19/69 and saying
I would be broadcasting 12/26/69 Dallas(the first real test of an acoustic set
after the impromptu acoustic duo of Jerry and Bobby the week before), when
I got home I found that I had already broadcast 12/26/69 in 20011, so we
have the following instead:

Out of the eight versions in the Internet Archive, there are very few reviews,
again leading me to believe that this is another very underlistened-to show…
There is only one review of this soundboard/audience matrix:
REVIEW: smokin!
smoking!
The only reviews of the soundboard recording:
REVIEW: Good show
Good show. Miss the boys a lot. Never saw the dead til 85 and I love
listening to shows like this one.
REVIEW: Good show
I particularly like Scarlet>Fire, Samson and yes Jerry is crispy on Ship of
Fools.
From the aud recording:
REVIEW: True cure for a “case of the Monday’s”
People always complain about Monday’s. It’s like on Office Space…after a
while you get sick about hearing about Monday’s. That said, I found a sure
cure for those Monday morning blues…. an exciting Grateful Dead recording.
This specific show is nothing short of impressive. From the get go we hear an
fast paced highly jammable (both Jerry and Brent) Alabama Getaway and the
energy continues throughout the whole first set. Second set light up with a
good ole Scarlet/Fire combo and the jams keep on continueing until the US
Blues encore. Sound quality is very clear audio. So, to rap this little review
up, regardless to how you are spending your Monday morning (or any time or
day), check out this show. You definitly will not regret it.
REVIEW: Laid my proposition down
They all seemed grateful that day after Christmas. Nice amount of audience
in this crispy recording, replayed with the help of azimuth fine-tuning on the
DR-1. I like the unusual set list. Great range of tempo…for example, from
Jerry fanning the smokin’ Fire, through a stompin’ Sampson to a slo-mo,
precise Ship of Fools
REVIEW: Excellent compliment to a rainy day
This sounds incredible in both the set list choices, recording and of course
playing. Has to be my new favorite CC Rider, heck the whole first set is killer
playing. Haven’t gotten to the second set yet, can’t wait. The boys are really
into this one.
REVIEW: Lovely Set List
This is just my favorite day, the set lists are great. Many of my favorites are
included this day.
REVIEW: Peggy-O
Absolutely beautiful…I miss them so much.
Audio Patches:
1) Do to unknown tape/recording problems – the soundboard 1 audio track
starting with Lost Sailor till the end of the set changed speeds/pitch from
being 1 second fast per minute to over 4 seconds fast per minute but at a
variable rate – I tried to correct but even when changing at 2 seconds interval,
it still was off. I replaced this erratic audio with the video soundboard which
consistantly matched the audience soundtrack.
2) 8 minutes into Playing in the Band, 12 minute and 05.713 seconds were
missing from the soundboard 1 soundtrack – filled in using mono video
audio.
