Mel Goodman (above), former CIA analyst, author and professor, will join Steve and Lew this week to weigh in on the nomination of Rex Tillerson for Secretary of State. Goodman will clarify whether we need to worry about Tillerson’s ties to Russia and specifically his close “friendship” with Vladimir Putin. Another issue Goodman may touch on is the potential conflict of interests posed by deals between Tillerson’s company Exxon and Russia, such as the trillion-dollar Antarctica oil drilling plan that has been determined to be too environmentally dangerous by the Obama administration and stopped.

Later, Greg Palast will update us on his efforts to publicize how Republican state legislators used a tactic called crosscheck to illegally drop as many as 1.5 million mostly minority voters from the roles, particularly in the states won narrowly by Donald Trump and swung the electoral vote count.
