“Yesterday’s Dead Today”, Monday, November 9th, 7-9pm Eastern

Written by on Sunday, November 8, 2020

“It is said that, if you lined up all those who have ever been to a Grateful Dead concert head-to-toe, the line would stretch around the moon, and about halfway back. And nobody would complain!”

WSLR is slowly coming back with a very sparse number of live studio programmers, albeit with very
specific instructions as to how to protect both ourselves and our fellow WSLR volunteers.

And WSLR has now opened new Studio “B”, adjacent to the Joe Jacco On-Air Studio, wherein we will
be able to alternate shows in-house without programmer contacts.

In full and fair disclosure:
The vast majority of everything I have ever broadcast over WSLR, on
“Yesterday’s Dead Today”, along with other shows I have had the honor of
subbing for, have been either Shorten(“SHN”) or Free Lossless Audio
Codec(FLAC) and are “lossless” recordings, meaning that virtually no data
is lost when converting between various disciplines.

This recording is, however, an MP3. I could not pass up sharing!

REVIEW: Another fun show!!
Every time I look at the calendar and see that this is really 2010 and we are
still able to see the music that we love so much, being played at such a
spectacular level, I just can’t believe how blessed we all are!! Sure, like a lot of
others, I have my moments of “it could have been a little louder”, or, “why did
Bobby have to throw Two Djinn in there”. But, through a little therapy from
friends, I am getting over these things and realizing what a great gift is being
bestowed on all who are able to attend. LONG LIVE FURTHUR!!!! I give
this show 5 stars not because it was the best show of the tour but because it
sure beat the hell out of anything else I might have been doing instead!!

REVIEW: Outstanding!
I missed this show as I was on mom duty and boy am I bummed. There is
definitely something magical about CY Stephens. Artists seem to be truly
inspired when upon that stage. Highlights for me are the Bama Getaway,
LIBERTY(!!!) and as a previous reviewer mentioned, Phil’s lines in BEW. Say
what you will about the “old man”, he’s still got it and I love hearing him sing.
“Big Bad Blues” Was a special treat. For those who were there – y’all are
LUCKY DUCKS.

REVIEW: Magnificent!!
Great show that will go down as one of the best from the winter tour. Hard to
beat this one. Just to touch on a a couple of tidbits…First set is hot with a
blazing hot guitar solo from JK on Alabama. Second set smokes all the way
through with a monumental Fire On The Mountain intro jam and one of the
better most instrument bending, mind blowing, up-front in your face Other
One’s you will ever hear from this band period. In my 30 years of tripping out
listening to the Dead this certainly comes as close as you can get. A must
listen…

REVIEW: pretty good, not bad
amazing opener couplets for both sets, and their new material is getting better. highlights were
masterpiece, liberty and the entire second set (very good bid you goodnight)! jk flubs touch one line, but
purty gud.
