“EVERYONE is a Deadhead…some of you may not know it yet…”

Grateful Dead
Warfield Theater, San Francisco, CA

October 11, 1980
Master Soundboard Cassettes > 1st gen. > Matt Smith’s 2nd gen..cassettes
flac2496, mastered by Scott Clugston

I thought I had covered all the Warfield/Radio City shows, but apparently not!
This is the only complete soundboard I can see circulating, while there are
many versions of the acoustic set in soundboard….and since I broadcast an
acoustic set from more than ten years before, as well as planning on an
acoustic set during my WSLR+Fogartyville Fall Membership Drive ‘21, I am
sticking to the electric set, again, especially since it is the only complete
electric set soundboard circulating.

Remember, too, that the “powers that were” at the time knew they themselves were recording for future release(s), they clamped down on recordings of almost all stripes. There are many stories circulating of what tapers went thru to get as much as they could, of as many of these dates as they could…

The only two reviews of this recording:
REVIEW: Hmmmmm transcending time to the show….
I wish I could review all the shows but, I have to on this one. The Warfield shows are filling the
air, and I don’t want any new air….but I must progress. I started my bucket list of every show, I
think 2yrs ago, and I’m only in 1980…. October…. and it’s only getting better. The smooth
connect with the backround of being on the stage, develops this show over others. Good
morning, how do you do, smile, smile, smile, way back machines, set course to today, then,
them, us. Best to beat, not holding my breath, unless it’s new air…….

REVIEW: Thx
Very nice thanks

Reviews of other recordings:
REVIEW: Fantastic!
I cannot thank you enough. I have been looking for a complete version of this show for ages.
Glad I finally found it.

REVIEW: Practice Makes Purrrrfect
GD 10/11/1980 – 1st Set – Think about the beginning of this Warfield run (shoot, just think about
the Dead @ the Warfield and try not to smile :0))…and listen to the audio at the first few shows,
and then this set– g*d bless they are good…adjustments, baaby — key to any pro-athelete…just
like Jerr and the boyz — and their very accomplished sound dudes…A+++

REVIEW: I don’t know what it is, but…
This show is making me smile, and I’m at work.
I don’t normally listen to 80’s dead – a bias I must learn to get over; I think it’s the MIDI in later
years – but this show is blowing me away.

REVIEW: DH uF
can’t stop smiling

REVIEW: Rosalie McFalll — UNBELIEVABLE!
We’re talking about the best of the best here, folks. Rosalie McFall is – BY FAR – the best
version I’ve ever heard. The entire set is unbelievable, but Rosalie McFall stole the show.
