REVIEW: I was there ~~~!
Let me tell you what a Day. David Lindly and El rayo ex opened around 2 ish and Then Santana
came up next under the big tent and that show was HOT!! Carlos was getting off. That was around 3
when Santana started. And Then I remember we had a fairly long wait until it got a little Darker and
then Bam Touch of Grey. Touch had just become a top 20 hit and it was peaking about this time.
You would hear it in people cars as you drove around town. So the Dead go all out and get a Stunt
Plane that Dive bombs the stage during The first chorus of TOUCH. The first set had a few stumbles
from what i remember but the 2nd Set was just amazing! I am sure the Chemicals just hitting me had
a little to do with it. Jerry was so On, he was having so much fun playing that night. And then when
Carlos joined them Jerry was laughs and giggles, hugging and joking with Carlos. Me having lived in
the Midwest was thinking how similar this venue’s feel was to Alpine Valley. Anyways this was a
hot show, most of the Deads California shows that summer were. A few months after this we Had
Mountain View for the first time and the Band didnt disappoint for those shows either. Summer of
87 kicks ass if you were a California Dead Head. Man I loved it every second of it. I was so damn
lucky. What a Hot Crazy Strange Summer, the family was out in full force!!!

REVIEW: Doing the DEW!
My favorite ever Morning Dew. One of those shows with a “blow your mind” moment. Listen
around 7:00 as Jerry is singing the second ‘doesn’t matter’ line before the final jam. You could have
heard a pin drop! I was that guy looking around stupefied…saying to myself, “Damn, he just OWNS
this place!”

REVIEW: Great show
Carlos was great, especially during Iko.

REVIEW: Eclectic Weekend
I was there for both nights. Acid flowed like honey on a hot day. The air show, the parachutists.
Hooked up with two guys from Vermont and took my last tab after the Sunday show. Stayed up all
night lookin at the stars on a hillside by the campground. Great freakin shows, man. Everyone was
all sorts of fucked up.

REVIEW: cow pasture camping can be fun
Somehow I started of to this run fully clothed and with my doctor (both out from the east coast)and
ended up in the same cow pasture fully naked and feeling very jolly (fungus amoung us jolly)
Jerry and Santana on stage together was not just a dream.
peace, love and massive JurassicBlueberries

REVIEW: beautiful show
wow. this is a good one. you can tell just how “on” the band is and how “on” the crowd is. inspiring
playing.

REVIEW: One of the best
Not only was the music great — awesome set list and the boys were on that night — but the setting
was amazing. David Linley opened, Santana played next, and then what you hear here. To top it off,
between acts there was arial acrobatic shows…planes and skydivers. One of the happiest days of my
life.

REVIEW: What a day
Coming off a backpack trip in Yosemite, we decided to swing by Calaveras and catch the Sunday
show. The scene was wonderful. I remember jerry taking the golf cart ride from the helicopter to
backstage, waving to all of us while Santana was playing. The box of rain put me into tears. west LA
fadeaway reminded me of the long drive back to work. Santana on Iko made me forget all about it!
He sounded better with the Dead than with his own band!

REVIEW: just re-rated to a 5 star
i drop back in and out of ‘eras’ and just re-listened to this show… that scarlet>fire and playin’ outro
incredibly psychedelic and creative… brokedown is sweet. what was i thinking?
