Rights of NCAA Athletes, then LWV Manatee County, on Peace & Justice, Wednesday Dec 29 at 9am.

Written by on Monday, December 27, 2021

This Wednesday on the Peace & Justice Report at 9am Bob and I will air our interview with Tim Nevius, an attorney and former college NCAA athlete who now represents the players. He’ll review the new rights that athletes have to profit from their name, image and likeness.

On the second half of our show we’ll talk about the League of Women Voters Manatee County. Alice Newlon, their President, will describe their many workshops on diversity, equity and inclusion. Recently LWV Manatee has had two book group sessions doing “Me and White Supremacy” and “Racism without Racists.”  They had a professional program on Implicit Bias, and they have had LGBTQ training. In addition, their government committee observes the county commission meetings and their education committee observes the school board meetings. They are running an educational program on January 22 on running for local office.
