“Yesterday’s Dead Today”, Monday, September 5th, 7-9pm Eastern

Written by on Sunday, September 4, 2022

I’ve seen thousands of reviews over the years, but this actually explains “A Deadhead”…
“REVIEW: stella
As a new fan of the Dead it was years before I realized the importance of the tears streaming down
the face of the girl beside me. She seemed to be having a religious experience. Now I know why”

Reviews from other recordings:
REVIEW: Another Fantastic Show Nevermind “US”
…And the undeserved rub on the Grateful Dead that they sucked at the BIG shows like
Monterey and Woodstock. Here, another marvelous notch on the barrels. The Grateful Dead
never did a bad show.

REVIEW: US Festival (First of two) *Proofread Version
04/16/12 The first (of two) Steve Wozniak (Apple Computer co-founder) western
Woodstock-inspired major rock festivals with an impressive band line-up and production
venue! The Grateful Dead had the rise and shine Sunday breakfast time-slot. Bill Graham and
all of the bands were flown in via helicopter …There has to be video/films somewhere that
document these enormous events ~ of which offered four on-stage, live cam viewing screens
that were huge. Unless I’m mistaken, the state-of-the-art sound system was all designed by the
Grateful Dead!

REVIEW: bread crumb
What a circus this was. The place was immense and people streamed up the hill for as far as the
eye could see. We easily got the taping gear in, but security was hell-bent on shutting recording
down – too many bands concerned about their live legacy I suppose. The first time they caught
us, I slipped the real tape in my pocket and handed them a blank. The second time we just gave
up trying.

REVIEW: Great Show…….nice outdoor sound
Love the Shakedown on this, you can hear them pushing thier equipment to its limits, as all
bands should!

REVIEW: Interesting, different, good mood on this one…
The extra wah-wah on Shakedown is great. The vocals come through fabulous! I am assuming
this is an outdoor concert on a pretty day from the sound; everybody sounds like they feel good,
it’s snappy and extra tight. I really like this show, it has a singular feel to it, jazzy like, hard to
pin down…. try it, you’ll like it….

REVIEW: fun
very fun, up-tempo show. bobby sings ” ever since she went and had a sex change” instead of
“living on reds, vitamin c, and cocaine” great shakedown, samson, china cat, i know you rider,
sugar magnolia, us blues, satisfaction actually the entire thing is great, one of my favorite

REVIEW: Breakfast in America
The Glen Helen Regional Park served a real nice Truckin’ breakfast that day with a funky
Shakedown Street, extra Sugaree and a whole lot of Satisfaction! Thank you band, road crew,
crowd, festival organisers, and all you bootiful people, listening out there!

REVIEW: explosive show
an easy show to overlook — especially with the morning slot at a festival show. this show, however, crackles with
energy. extremely enjoyable — and the truckin>d/s>nfa>black peter> sugar mag is great… and us
blues>satisfaction encore cooks. this show a delightful surprise
