This Saturday, April 28th, I, Mark Binder, will be sitting in for Bill Ewell on his “Bop And Beyond” show, 3-5pm, on
Sarasota’s WSLR 96.5 LPFM Sarasota. Bill had forgotten he had a family commitment and asked me if i
could slip into his seat for his stint on WSLR’s Prpring ‘18 Membership Drive. I immediately texted
Mike Finly, host of WSLR’s past “Adventures in Jazzland”, which ran Thursdays 7-9pm. He texted me
back right away with a resounding “YES!” so I look forward to teaming up again with my old buddy!
I will be featuring, as time allows, all jazz performances from our adjacent listening room’s Fogartyville
stage: Heffner & Hefner; Tampa Bay Al Dowing Association All-Stars; Viva Cal(in benefit for Frankie
Pineiro); The Valerie Gillespie Ensemble; La Lucha; Jonathan Powell & nu Sangha; Fred Johnson with
the Michael Ross Quartet; and Thomas Carabasi and The New Jazz Standards Quintet.
