Pioneers of climate science Wednesday, April 24 at 9am on Peace & Justice

Written by on Saturday, April 20, 2019

This coming Wednesday morning at 9am Jim Eachus will talk about the basics of climate science through stories from the lives of scientists, from Benjamin Franklin to Jennifer Francis. Who was the first radical leftist to contribute to climate science?  How did the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand lead to an important climate discovery? How did the Gulf Stream get its name? You can meet Jim and see a slide lecture on this same topic Tuesday night April 23 at 6:30 at Fogartyville.

Jim Eachus is the organizer of Sarasota Climate Change Meetup.  He is a retired computer geek with a PhD in theoretical physics.  April 25 at 6pm at Selby Library they’re having a short film and discussion.

ALSO, this Wednesday we start our WSLR + Fogartyville Spring Membership Drive. Please call or go to WSLR.ORG to donate and keep our station going! And why not mention Peace & Justice Report when you donate? Thanks!
