The ACLU on rights restoration, and a doctor’s thoughts on fascism – this Wednesday, Jan 2 at 9 a.m. on Peace & Justice

Written by on Sunday, December 30, 2018

This Wednesday January 2 our first guest was Kirk Baily, Political Director of the ACLU of Florida. Kirk talked about the implementation of  Amendment 4 which restores the right to vote to over 1.4 million Floridians. Tuesday, January 8 at 9 a.m. is the first opportunity for former felons to register. Just go to registertovoteflorida.gov or register locally at  sarasotavotes.com if you live in Sarasota County or votemanatee.com if you live in Manatee County.

Then we had a great interview with Dr. Dale P. Anderson about his study of fascism and the growing possibility of it here in the U.S.  His interest in fascism began with the candidacy of Donald Trump, and he has presented locally on a number of subjects, including ‘The Rise of Kleptocracy’, ‘Is America Safe for Democracy?’, ‘A Scorecard for America’, and ‘How Fascism Works.’

If you missed the show, just listen on our archive site:

He’ll be talking at Fogartyville on Tuesday, January 8. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.
