While most of the news talk this week has centered on the government shut down and the need for a “big and beautiful” wall to protect our southern border (secure our borders! darn it!), the Trump administration has been up to other mischief in recent weeks . Joining Steve and Lew to explain some of the lesser publicized (but as important) ideas and actions of the White House will be Jay Riestenberg (above), Deputy Communications Director at Common Cause in Washington. Common Cause, whose mission is to watch the backs of average citizens in the halls of power, is currently filing complaints to the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) and the Department of Justice concerning election fraud; ethic conflicts by Trump and just about everybody in his administration; conflicts of interest such as appointing a former Boeing executive as the acting Defense Secretary or a former coal industry lobbyist as acting EPA chief. The list goes on. As of this posting, we are not yet in a national crisis (except for the one that occurred in November, 2016), but a lot can happen in 24 hours.
