Perhaps the brightest light that shone in the Sunshine State this mid-term election was the passage of Amendment 4 which automatically restores voting rights to former felons who have completed their sentences, a change that potentially affects 1.4 million Floridians. Neil Volz (above right), a member of the board of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition (FRRC), will join Steve and Lew to explain how the passage of this important change to the state constitution is really just a beginning. The FRRC, the organization that spear-headed the effort to get Amendment 4 on the ballot and was founded by Desmond Meade (above center), is ready to assist former felons navigate the bureaucratic journey of registering to vote. While new Florida state senate president Bill Galvano admits he was not in favor of the amendment, he claims he will adhere to the will of the people. We will see.
