While much attention (and rightly so) is being paid to the release of the Mueller report, such as it is, there are other activities of this administration that require vigilance. Joining Steve and Lew is Matthew Kent (above), a regulatory policy advocate at Public Citizen to talk about the latest effort by the White House to dilute the balance of our democracy by politicizing customarily independent agencies. The Office of Management and Budget recently released a memo sent to such agencies that requires them to submit regulatory policy changes to the White House. Among those agencies, the most troubling inclusion is the Federal Election Commission (FEC). Is it just me or does anybody else notice the danger of allowing the political party in charge to have the power over the election process?
